Candy Corn Cookie
Make a candy corn cookie with three sections of royal icing: white, orange, and yellow. You can ice the center first, let it set for 20 to 25 minutes, then fill in the sides. Or decorate the two outer sections first and add the center after they set.
Use a scriber tool to guide the icing, smooth the edges, and pop any air bubbles. Once the cookie dries, add melon and chestnut petal dust for shading, then finish with sterling pearl dust for a little sparkle.
Recipe Ingredients:
Sugar cookie, baked and cooled
Royal icing in flood consistency: white, orange, and yellow
Melon petal dust
Chestnut petal dust
Sterling pearl dust, also called luster dust
Small food-safe brush
Scriber tool
Recipe Directions:
Mark where you want the white, orange, and yellow sections on the cookie.
For the first method, flood the center section with orange icing. Let it set for 20 to 25 minutes.
Flood the white and yellow sections. Use a scriber tool to guide the icing, smooth the edges, and remove any excess.
For the second method, flood the white and yellow sections first. Let them set, then fill the center with orange icing. Smooth the icing so it meets the other colors.
Let the icing dry. Brush melon and chestnut petal dust along the edges to add shading.
Add sterling pearl dust for sparkle.
