Parmesan Cheese Straws

Making Parmesan Cheese Straws is easy with just a few ingredients. These crispy, cheesy twists use puff pastry, Parmesan, and a little seasoning. They bake up golden brown and make a great snack, side, or appetizer.

You'll roll out cold puff pastry, sprinkle on Parmesan and smoked paprika, and press it in. Flip, repeat on the other side, and brush with egg wash. Cut into strips, twist, chill, then bake at 425°F for 8–13 minutes.

Perfect for charcuterie boards, soups, or salads. Give them a try!

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed and rolled to 12x12 inches

  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika, divided

  • ¼ tsp salt, divided

  • 1 egg white, mixed with 1 tbsp water

Recipe Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Sprinkle ½ cup Parmesan, ¼ tsp paprika, and a pinch of salt over the puff pastry. Lightly press in with a rolling pin.

  • Flip the pastry, brush with egg wash, and repeat with remaining Parmesan, paprika, and salt.

  • Cut into 12–14 strips and twist each piece.

  • Chill in the freezer for 10 minutes.

  • Bake for 8–13 minutes until golden brown.

  • Sprinkle with extra Parmesan while warm. Enjoy!
