Made from fresh strawberries, whipping cream and a delicious crunchy crumble topping (think of a streusel, or sundae topping mix) this frozen dessert is sure to demand seconds from your family or guests.

Recipe Ingredients:

Crunchy Crumble Topping

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1/2 cup butter

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts


Frozen Dessert Filling

  • 10 ounces fresh strawberries

  • 2 egg whites

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 cup whipping cream

Recipe Directions:

Crunchy Crumble Topping

  1. Mix the topping ingredients together until they resemble coarse sand.

  2. Spread onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. Cook at 375 degrees until golden brown. Stir often to ensure the mix is browned on all sides.

  4. Set aside and cool.


Frozen Dessert Filling

  1. Beat the sugar and egg whites together until fluffy.

  2. In a separate bowl, beat the whipped cream until it is fluffy.

  3. Gently fold the strawberries into the sugar mixture.

  4. Gently fold in the whipping cream until combined.

  5. Spread half of the topping on the bottom of a freezer safe dish.

  6. Add the filling mixture over the topping.

  7. Spread the remaining topping onto the filling mixture.

  8. Freeze for 12-24 hours.

  9. Allow to sit for about 15 minutes before serving.


It makes approximately 6 servings.


Variation:

Swap blueberries or your favorite fruit for strawberries for a yummelicious twist.
